TRAVELLING TO MAYNOOTH

Maynooth University is located in the heart of Ireland's only university town. We are 25km from the centre of Dublin in North Kildare (see map below).

The easiest ways to get to/from Dublin Airport to Maynooth are:

  • Expressway Bus from Dublin Airport
    • Make your way to the the Bus Zone outside the terminal buildings.
    • The Expressway bus, Route 22, serves Maynooth - information here
    • Buses stop in Maynooth town centre, close to the Glenroyal Hotel, and a short walk to the university campus.

  • By taxi. This will cost around €60-€70 on average.
    • Take a taxi at the airport. There are many waiting outside the terminal.
    • You might also book a taxi from Maynooth in advance.
      • Taxy Services can be booked online, Taxy also has an app for your smartphone
      • Taxis may also be booked using UBER or FREENOW
      • Seamus Murray Cabs can be contacted via phone (00353/87 2684399) or email: (Murraycabs97@gmail.com)

  • By Dublin bus and train. These options are less expensive, but they are indirect and tend to take longer (unless there's heavy traffic on the motorway, which is not unusual).
    • First take the no. 41 bus or the Aircoach from the airport to Drumcondra Rd Lower.
    • Then walk 2 minutes to Drumcondra train station, where there are regular trains to Maynooth. These take approximately 40 minutes and are very straightforward. Tickets can be purchased at the train station.
    • From Maynooth train station, cross the small bridge across the Royal Canal and make your way to the TSI building or your accommodation.
