The CCC returns

to Ireland in 2026

The Celtic Conference in Classics returns to Ireland next year and will be hosted by the Department of Ancient Classics at Maynooth University, from 14-17 July, 2026.

Call for Panels now open!

Closing 31 Oct. 2025

A Call for Panels, inviting colleagues to submit proposals to the conference organizers, is open.

Please send on proposed panel title, an abstract, and the names and affiliation of two panel organisers (with biog.), and any proposed speakers you may have in place already to classics@mu.ie.

Details about organizing and running a CCC panel can be found HERE and on the Celtic Conference in Classics website. Calls for individual papers will be issued once the final list of panels for 2026 is in place.

Join us in Maynooth!

The CCC is an in-person conference

The first Celtic Conference in Classics was held in Maynooth in 2000, and we are delighted to host the 17th meeting of the CCC.

In 2026 we plan to host approximately twenty specialist panels in Maynooth with, ideally, fifteen-twenty papers on each panel. (Though smaller panels are also acceptable.)

In keeping with the founding principles of the conference, this CCC seeks to promote cross-fertilisation between separate fields and so panel suggestions on any Classical antiquity-related theme are welcome.
